Blind Date (one-shot)
Title: Blind Date
Written By: Perriwynkkle
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: JaeMin
Genre: Romance/Comedy
Length: One-shot, 1/1
Disclaimer: Ownage of the DongBang goes to SM Entertainment...at least until next year...I'll get them.

Summary: I tried to calm myself, to think of different things; world peace, broccoli, cats...anything to get my mind off of the cars peeling by outside my front window.

A/N: I don't know what prompted me to write this. Maybe it was the memory of my own blind date I had to endure back in high school...which turned out to be a terrible experiance.
It was so bad that the guy looked me up and down and said, "Oh, you'll do." Thanks dude, love the enthusiasm your showing...go die in a fire. *ahem* ANYHOO, I hope you all enjoy this story, I made it to be funny so...I am praying that it makes you laugh. ^-^

Waiting for the doorbell to ring is the worst damn feeling in the world.
I could tell you that a thousand times over yet you probably wouldn't believe me unless you actually had the chance to feel it for yourself.
The way your heart beats so fast that it feels as if it will jump out of your mouth, walk across the floor and through the small doggy door to the kitchen.
You sweat like a lobster in a restaurant tank, knowing that after a few more customers, some filthy rich couple will choose to eat you for their anniversary dinner.
You know that, with the ring of the doorbell, it could turn your night sweet or sour.
You could like the person on the opposite side, your night a cascading waterfall of smiles, laughter, and breathless compliments.
It could be like dancing in a field of flowers, easy, fun, free, and smells good.
Or...the outside forces could bring a horrendous, stupendously bad image of a person. Someone you would never get along with in a million years let alone tonight at a fancy bar.
Salted nuts will not make the bad taste in your mouth go away after a run in with a human hazard.
But that night, as I paced in the living room....I was keeping my hopes up.
Optimistic is the word.
Open to the thought of my night being ruined or rejoiced.
I tried to calm myself, to think of different things; grandmothers, broccoli, cats...anything to get my mind off of the cars peeling by outside my front window.
It was almost impossible. Like keeping a child from a jar of his mother's cookies.
My eyes kept straying to the frosted glass, my fingers itching to pull back the white cream curtains and glare down the street like a murdering maniac.
I was waiting for my prey.
Or was it the other way around?
I definitely didn't feel like I was the hunter.
My house was the trap keeping me in position for the kill.
Where was the violin music when you needed it?
Can't have a scary movie with banjo music, here comes the monster, enter banjo solo.
Wait, I am getting off track! Where was I? Oh, yeah, doorbell, that.
Shit, when was it going to ring anyways?
It had been taken forever, an eternity, I could have traveled to Pluto and back...mind you I would have had to shave again.
I couldn't keep waiting.
Couldn't keep pacing in time with the ticks of the clock.
Anxious....jittery....I felt sick. Was I hot? No...no I wasn't. I checked four times.
Then I heard it.
That terrible jingle bells chime which I hated so much echoed throughout the small house.
My heart continued to pound like a garbage compactor was hidden in my chest as I ran to the hallway mirror. Nothing out of place.
Oh yeah, I was a stud, I would fuck myself I was so hot.
I turned to the door, the small window opening showing only a brief glimpse of jet black hair smoothed carefully down a round skull.
I reached for the handle, the cold metal burning like fire down my fingertips as I pulled the door open.

Holy mother of Jesus.

“Hi...I'm Jaejoong.”
Did he just talk?
“Uhm, your Changmin right?”
Was I supposed to respond to that? To the wondrously gorgeous Adonis standing on my front porch, yellow flowers in his white knuckled fist, eyes glittering blue and skin glowing effortlessly pearl against his leather jacket.
“Yeah...” I breathed, was I really still respirating? “I'm Changmin.”
Smooth, I thought, 'Yeah' what the fuck kind of answer was that?
He smiled, his teeth bright white, matching the snow on the ground, “Can I come in?”
I think I may have gaped at him, but I answered anyways, “Yeah, yeah, sure, come on in...” He was walking into MY house, MY house! I took a note never to wash the floor again. “Let me take those flowers and put them in water.”
He stood in the vestibule as I grabbed the roses, the beautiful yellow roses, oh-so totally predictable yellow roses and flew into the kitchen.
I took a deep breath once the white and steel hit my eyes, the comforting cleanliness of the kitchen calming my blushing body.
He was perfect. Every inch of his body was perfect. From his raven black hair to his boot clad feet he stood with an air of confidence and electric charisma, and he was in my vestibule, waiting for me.
Waiting to go out with ME.
I went to another mirror, readjusting the collar on my tight black button up shirt, tugging on the hem of my suit jacket, pulling lightly on a crease of my clingy blue jeans.
I wondered if I looked to much a geek...my dark rimmed glasses framing my nose and leading the eyes up to my spiked out short brown hair.
Maybe I did.
'Too late now', I thought, turning back around to walk once again through the kitchen door.
There he was, still standing there, his shining leather pants pulled taught against his many curves while his fingers played with a glowing red cell phone.
His eyes crept up my body as I approached, I hoped I wasn't blushing too red.
“Ready to go?” he asked, I think I may have turned to goo, “I have the car in the driveway, I hope that's okay.”
I shook my head, “Oh no, it's fine, let's go.”
He nodded, waving his hand at the door to signal me first to escape the confines of my home, “Where do you want to go?”
Was I supposed to care? He could take me to a graveyard and I would still think it romantic, “Anywhere is okay with me.”
“Bowling sounds fun.” he replied as he unlocked his black Lexus with a honk, opening my passenger side door.
Why yes I would like a side of gentleman with my main course of hunkalicious, thank you.
“Bowling?” I asked, laughing slightly as I climbed into the warm black seats, “Do you know how to bowl?”
He shrugged, jumping into his own driver's position, turning to face me with glittering, fuck me eyes, “No.” he leaned closer, our lips inches apart, his breath tasted like mint, “But you can teach me.”
Smiling he fell back into his seat, putting the car into reverse, my face burning a brilliant tuberose red.
Oh, I liked him.
I liked him long time.
So did my little friend apparently.
I licked my lips, watching him smile as I responded, “Sure I can teach you.”

Funny...I sucked at bowling.

Comments and stuff...they make me feel happy! Please comment!!!

Oh and for the people who keep asking, when I write, I try not to make it forced. Because if the writing is forced, it will come through as that in your story. Everything will sound stiff and overthought. I always write when I get the muse or desire...it just all seems to flow better that way. ^-^
