Author's Note: This was one of the first JaeMin fictions I wrote, it was a long time ago too. At the beginning of my entering the TVXQ forum in 2006...long time ago. Hope you all enjoy this story!

It was 2am, and Changmin was still awake in the moonlit bedroom. Staring up at the ceiling, Changmin’s face looked ghostly pale in the shimmering light from the globe in the black sky above. Looking over at the bed next to his, Jaejoong’s face seemed angelic in the white light streaming in from the high windows. Changmin was angry with himself, he had completely messed up. It had been his birthday that day, and after him and the band mates had gone off to do their celebrity duties, they had held a party for him. Chalk full of gifts, cake, and warm embraces. The only thing that had been missing was the one thing that would have made the day a whole lot better. Changmin had convinced himself the night before his birthday that he was going to pronounce his love for Jaejoong. He had had the whole thing planned. He was going to ask to speak to Jae alone, take him into his room, and tell him his true feelings on their relationship. How all he wanted was to give him a kiss on those ruby red lips he liked so much, how he wanted to run his hands through his silky raven black hair that longed to be tussled. Changmin had gotten to the second part; he had Jae in his room, but then chickened out and said nothing. Jaejoong was a bit confused after that, his eyes twinkling in an odd way Changmin could not describe. Changmin had then left the room; the only thing leaving his mouth, the air he exhaled in his disappointment at himself. After both he and Jaejoong had once again joined the celebrations, not speaking the rest of the night, and had gone to bed without a word.
His eyes brimming with tears, Changmin stood up and quietly left the moonlit room, wrapping a black robe around his boxer clad form to fight off the cold of the hallway. Padding into the kitchen, the tile floor cold beneath his bare feet as he slowly filled a glass of cold water, sipping its silvery surface. Setting the cup down on the counter, Changmin walked to and opened up the screen door to the outside balcony, the slight wind whipping his robe’s ends around his legs. Leaning on the railing overlooking the street far below, Changmin let the tears fall heavily down his cheeks and into the air blowing all around him. It was cold outside, but for some reason the shivers it sent down his spine felt well needed and relaxing. Changmin closed his eyes, the tears coming even faster when he mind went back to Jaejoong’s confused face leaning against the door of the bedroom earlier that evening. Changmin brought his hands up to his face, his skin chilled by the icy wind.
“Why couldn’t I tell him? Jaejoong is not that hard to talk to, how could I get so choked up?” Changmin sobbed, his hands wiping away the silver tears streaking down his porcelain face.
“Tell me what?” A light voice asked from behind. Changmin whipped around to find Jaejoong standing there, a piece of cake sitting on a plate in his delicate hands, the wind whipping his hair around his big brown eyes. Changmin gasped, not knowing what to say to this intrusion.
“Nothing.” Changmin said, mentally kicking himself for not having the guts to admit his love for the second time that night. Jaejoong smiled slightly, sitting down lightly on the balcony’s floor, patting the ground beside him with a slight tap.
“Come here, let’s eat some cake.” Changmin hesitated, he should just go back inside, hide in the warm sheets of his bed and forget his love and move on. But he just couldn’t obey his inner conscious, and sat down cautiously next to his black haired desire. Jaejoong smiled as Changmin finally sat down next to him, and he picked up the plate with the chocolate and white icing cake from off the floor next to him.
“Here, open up.” Jaejoong said as he lifted a piece of cake up to Changmin’s face with a silver fork. Changmin lifted an eyebrow at the command.
“You’re going to feed me?” Changmin asked, Jaejoong’s face breaking into a large smile.
“There is a first time for everything. And I have the feeling you are not happy with yourself at the moment. You need to be pampered a little.” Jaejoong explained while shoving the cake into Changmin’s mouth. “So, Min.” Jaejoong asked as he watched Changmin chew on the sinful chocolate cake. “Why were you crying?”
Changmin sighed as he swallowed the piece of cake, answering, “Disappointment.” Jaejoong’s eyebrow crooked up, a smirk lining his lips. “In what?” he asked, the fork cutting into the cake and feeding another piece into his companion’s mouth.
“Well,” Changmin took another deep breath; he was going to go for it. “I was disappointed because I didn’t handle a delicate situation very well.” Jaejoong nodded looking down at the cake, cutting another piece and holding it up towards Changmin.
“What kind of situation was this per se?” Jaejoong questioned as Changmin bit the cake off of the fork.
Changmin shrugged, and then explained, “I couldn’t tell the person I love, that I love them.”
Stopping in mid-cut with the fork, Jaejoong looked up at the 20 year old sitting beside him, all grown up from the 14 year old he had first met a few years back. Finishing the cut, he fed Changmin another piece of the dark fluff.
“Really? And who might this person be?” Jaejoong asked, his dark eyes boring into Changmin’s turned away face. Changmin’s heart started to beat faster, the confidence he was first feeling, losing to the feeling of fear boiling in his chest. Fear that Jaejoong would not reciprocate the same feelings, or that maybe they couldn’t be friends anymore after this night once Changmin admitted his heart ache.
“It is…it is…” Changmin stuttered, the tears starting to fall down his face once more. “You know tonight at the party, when I asked to see you alone.” Changmin asked Jaejoong, Jaejoong’s eyes going wide with a nod in answer. “Well, you see, I was going to say, ‘Jaejoong I love you more than life itself’, but it didn’t quite come out that accurately. So, I am going to ask you now. Would you Jaejoong, deem me fit to admit to you that you may just be the love of my life?” Changmin asked, his hands grasping the one Jaejoong still had the fork clutched inside. At first, Jaejoong did nothing. He sat there, eyes glued to Changmin’s, both of them seemingly in a trance, the wind providing the only movement. Jaejoong’s eyes soon brimmed with tears, his mouth breaking out into a smile, “God, Changmin! Why didn’t you ask me sooner? Why so afraid to admit this to me? Of course you may love me; I will love you more right on back!” Jaejoong sighed, and the two fell into a warm embrace, their arms intertwining behind each other’s backs. The sound of the fork falling to the ground was the only noise heard from the balcony as the two pairs of lips came together in a crashing of emotions. Jaejoong dug his tongue into Changmin’s mouth, Changmin’s own reciprocating the same movement. Changmin’s hands went into Jaejoong’s hair, grabbing on for dear life as they kissed even harder than before. Jaejoong’s fingers rubbed up and down Changmin’s open lapel of his robe, his bare chest slowly being revealed to the cold night air. Pulling away in need of air, Jaejoong looked over at Changmin, his mouth ruby red and wet, his robe halfway open revealing his well toned chest. Jaejoong looked about the same, his hair tussled and his lips swollen from the harsh kisses.
“Do you want to know how long I have wanted to do that?” Jaejoong exclaimed, his face upturning into a bright smile. Changmin’ smile soon followed as they moved back together, this time slowly exploring each other’s mouths lovingly, savoring the moment. Pulling away once again, Changmin looked at Jaejoong,
“So, does this mean we are together?”
“I guess so.” Jaejoong answered, both of them laughing at the redundedness of the question. Jaejoong cupped Changmin’s face, wiping his thumb against the plumpness of his lips.
“God you look amazing.” He exclaimed, Changmin blushing in response and batting Jaejoong’s hand away.
“No I don’t, I probably look windblown and disheveled.” Jaejoong chuckled, bringing Changmin’s face closer for a short kiss.
“I do too. How about we go to bed? I am dead tired.” Jaejoong said as he grabbed the forgotten cake and fork off the floor and headed for the sliding door, Changmin in his wake. Walking inside, Jaejoong and Changmin washed the dishes quietly, Changmin pinching Jaejoong’s butt during the process making Jaejoong having to turn around and smack a kiss on Changmin’s waiting lips. Once finished with the dishes, the two walked slowly towards the bedroom, kissing passionately in front of the closed door.
“Just wait till we tell the others.” Changmin chuckled, Jaejoong’s quiet laughter following suit as they fell back under the covers of their respective beds, their eyes never leaving one another’s until they both were fast asleep. And for Changmin, sleep was something that hadn’t come easy to him, until Jaejoong had stepped into his life.

Awww. That was so cute and sweet. I especially loved this line: "Changmin whipped around to find Jaejoong standing there, a piece of cake sitting on a plate in his delicate hands, the wind whipping his hair around his big brown eyes." The vivid imagery that came to me when I read it was phenomenal. <333
